Whether or not OS X Server belongs on a Mac Mini can be debated. It all started with discussion over a blog post about a guy who was trying to install Mac OS X Server on a Mac mini. I was reminded of this issue by a thread over this weekend on Apple's Mac OS X Server mailing list. At the same time, Mac OS X Server may be the exception to the rule. Unless that software supersedes the original install versions, it is a very bad idea to click the install button. Newbies to the Mac, especially those finding boxes of older Mac OS X discs in garage sales, flea markets and on eBay, may believe they can install the software on their Mac.
